The short version.
- VaultClean has no user accounts.
- Your passwords, cards, private files, photos and contacts are stored and processed on your iPhone. We do not send them to our own servers.
- The app uses outside services for subscriptions, analytics and advertising measurement. These services receive the data described below.
- Versions 1.1 and earlier also used session recording, which could capture what appeared on your screen. Please read Earlier versions of the app and update to the latest version.
1. Who we are
VaultClean is provided by HCA Trend ltd (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what data the VaultClean iPhone app and this website handle. Questions and requests can be sent to info@valutclean.com.
2. Data that stays on your iPhone
The app stores these items locally on your device, and the features below run on your device:
- Password manager: logins, passwords, Wi-Fi details, bank details, payment card details including security codes and PINs, notes and attachments you add.
- Secret folder: photos, videos, documents and contacts you add.
- Photo and video cleaner: the app reads your photo library to find duplicates and show file sizes. It reads the location saved in your photos and matches it to a built-in list of cities to group them by place.
- Contacts cleaner: the app reads your contacts to find duplicates and incomplete entries.
- Video compressor: videos are compressed on your device.
- PIN codes: stored in the iOS Keychain on your device.
We do not operate a server that stores this content, so we cannot view, restore or recover it.
iPhone permissions
The app asks for permission before it uses your photos, contacts, camera or microphone. You can change this at any time in iPhone Settings. Some features stop working without these permissions.
Face ID is optional and is handled by iOS. The app receives only a success or failure result. It never receives your face data.
3. Data collected automatically
- Identifiers: an app user ID, identifiers created by the services listed below, and your Apple advertising identifier (IDFA) if you allow tracking.
- Usage data: events such as app launches, onboarding steps, paywall views and purchase attempts.
- Purchase data: subscription status and purchase information from Apple. We do not receive your full payment card details from Apple.
- Device details: such as model, iOS version and language.
- Crash data: if you choose to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone settings, Apple may give us crash reports.
- Network data: your IP address may be processed by these services when the app connects to them.
- Attribution data: information about the advertisement or campaign that led to your installation.
4. Earlier versions of the app
Versions 1.1 and earlier also used the services below. They were removed in version 1.2. If you have not updated yet, your installed version still uses them, so we recommend updating.
- Smartlook recorded how the app was used, including screens and taps. Because it could capture what was displayed, recordings may include information shown in the app, including password manager and secret folder screens.
- Sentry received crash reports, error information, a user ID, subscription status and device details.
- PNLight received a user ID, usage events, attribution data and device data. It also performed checks before purchases, which could use device motion data and a captcha.
You can ask us to delete data collected through these services by using the contact details above.
5. Outside services we use
| Service | What it is used for | Data it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Apple | App distribution, payments, Face ID | Handled under Apple’s own terms |
| Apphud | Managing subscriptions | User ID, purchase data, IDFA if allowed, attribution data |
| AppsFlyer | Measuring advertising and installs | Identifiers, IDFA if allowed, usage events, device and network data |
| Google Firebase Analytics | App usage analytics | App instance ID, user ID, usage events, device data |
| Google Firebase Hosting | Hosting this website | Standard web request data such as IP address |
We do not sell your passwords, files, photos or contacts. We use advertising measurement services, and some laws may treat that as “sharing” personal data for advertising.
6. Why we use this data
- To provide the app and your subscription (necessary to perform our agreement with you).
- To fix errors and improve the app (our legitimate interests).
- To measure advertising and to link activity across other companies’ apps and websites (with your permission, where the law or iOS requires it).
- To meet legal obligations.
7. Your choices
- Tracking: iOS asks for your permission. You can change it in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- Photos, contacts, camera, microphone: change these in iPhone Settings.
- Data on your iPhone: delete individual items in the app, or delete the app to remove its stored data. Your PIN may remain in the iOS Keychain after the app is deleted.
- Subscriptions: manage them in iPhone Settings under your Apple ID.
8. How your data is protected
Content is kept inside the app’s private storage and benefits from the protection iOS gives to app data. A PIN or Face ID can limit access inside the app. The app does not currently add its own encryption to stored passwords, cards or secret folder files. For this reason, we recommend using a strong iPhone passcode. Your data may also be included in your iCloud or computer backups, depending on your backup settings.
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. How long data is kept
Data on your iPhone stays until you delete it or delete the app. Data held by outside services is kept only as long as needed for the purposes above, according to each service’s settings and any legal requirements. Support emails are kept as long as needed to handle your request and keep necessary records.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including the EU, the UK and US states such as California, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to its use, to opt out of its sale or sharing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your local data protection authority. We will not treat you unfairly for using these rights.
To make a request, email info@valutclean.com. Because the app has no accounts, we may ask for details that help us find data linked to your device.
11. International transfers
The services listed above may process data in other countries, including the United States. Where required, transfers rely on legal safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
12. Children
The app is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us so we can act on it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. We will change the date at the top of this page and, for important changes, tell you in the app or on this website.
